Abrams tanks, which were made in the US, are blocked in Australia to be shipped to Ukraine. The value of these second hand tanks is estimated at USD 245 million.
They cannot be shipped as the US Government did not give authorization to the Australian Government to hand the tanks over to Ukraine.
This may be for the reason of the current peace negotiations. The US may be awaiting the results of the negotiations with Russia.
It seems further that the Australian officials are not sure if Ukraine really wants these old second hand tanks as they are not drone-safe.
