BBC: Deal or no deal? Why Trump is struggling to win fast ceasefire in Ukraine

The BBC, for once honest about the Ukraine conflict, writes: ” Ending wars can be complex and time consuming. We would not have got to this stage without Trump’s pushing, but progress has not been as quick or simple as he believed.”
Yuppie, finally, also a UK government news outlet confirms the merits of Donald Trump seeking peace for Ukraine. Yes, BBC understands that it is a complex and time consuming matter to find peace … specially between superpowers. And finally, BBC expresses that the World would not be on a peace pathway without Trump.
But what is hindering the peace. Initially, it was V Selensky with his maximalist demands. Further, Putin has put forward conditions which Ukraine and its European allies would not accept. As well, it is the Europeans’ actions to take up arms and willing to defend Ukraine against Russia, sending troops to Ukraine to eventually fight Russia. Furthermore, Ukraine and Europe demand US military protection what Trump refuses. Finally, it is a question of costs: who will pay for the mess created in Ukraine.
As a matter of fact, Ukraine is a proxy of the US in the war with Russia. The Obama/Biden Administrations promoted Project Ukraine, i.e. the anti-Russian regime change in Ukraine (leading to the Maidan coup) and the NATO eastward expansion into Ukraine. Since 2014, or even before, Ukraine has been handy to confront Russia. Now, Trump decided to stop Project Ukraine and to retreat. He works towards peace, abandoning former positions and is willing to find a compromise with Russia – even if it means that Russia may have reached some of its war targets, such as territorial gains, no NATO membership for Ukraine, demilitarization of Ukraine etc. But Selensky, supported by Europe, does not agree and the Europeans are prepared to continue the war on their own … as if the various small contingents from Europe can march against Russia. But why does Europe, the UK, France want to march against Russia? Europe claims that Russia is a threat, but Russia claims the same … a compromise must be found to avoid a WWIII scenario probably limited to Europe … as Donald Trump said “he is out” if Europe does not want peace according to his compromise with Russia. So, it’s very simple: the US and Russia will agree. If Ukraine or Europe oppose or torpedo the peace, they will be on their own.
