BBC: Russia won’t accept Nato troops in Ukraine, Lavrov says after talks with US

Russia’s red line is clear: no NATO troops in Ukraine.
If Russia accepts NATO troops, even as peacekeepers, all of Russia’s efforts were for nothing. Russia demands a neutral Ukraine, not member of NATO and will not allow the presence of NATO troops in Ukraine under whatever disguise.
There is no hope that this will change.
Luckily the EU member states recognize that there is no future for NATO’s European troops on the ground in Ukraine.
Poland, probably with a view on the Polish-Ukrainian history will not endanger their soldiers for the sake of Ukraine.
In countries like Germany and Italy, the voters will disagree to any such gamble. France’s President plays the “enfant terrible” and cannot stop to promote the idea of security guarantees for Ukraine, even in the absence of the US.
The UK has made a step back and is hiding again behind the shoulders of their American big brother.
And finally, the Europeans have not enough resources for such a mission, no money, insufficient equipment and just 25% of personnel needed.
