BBC: UK will ‘never let up’ on Ukraine support, says Starmer and promises 100 years of support.

PM Starmer promises 100 years of UK support to Ukraine. He promises to always support Ukraine. UK and Ukraine have signed such an Agreement for economic and military support. But what is it really?

...

What the BBC does not report:

While the executive powers of V Selensky to represent Ukraine are more than uncertain under the Ukrainian Constitution – his presidential term has expired – it is also a critical matter for PM Starmer to engage his country for a period of 100 years (or even longer) with unlimited obligations for his people. Not sure if PM Starmer can commit his people to such an engagement under UK law.

… unless these official declarations are political hot air and only for propaganda purpose. Or they are advance leading solidarity promises in view of the coming Ukrainian collapse (to make a point that the UK may not help Ukraine to win the war but instead to make a show of solidarity for the gloomy future).

What will President Trump respond to PM Starmer`s new initiative, just 3 days before President Trump’s Inauguration? The agreement and the pledge of eternal military and civil assistance by PM Starmer may not be in line with the ideas of Donald Trump and of the new US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, both wishing an end to the war and an end to the unlimited spending on that already lost war. In view of the US’ reasonable approach it will be difficult for PM Starmer to explain to the UK people what`s about the £12.8 billion already spent, the £3 billion already committed for every future year and now the new further spending and support obligations out of the 100 year Agreement, unlimited in time and amount. Gladly, and thanks to the lawyers, the Agreement with Ukraine can be canceled by the UK at any moment as the UK may decide.

Well, the BBC seems to be, therefore, very careful not to comment this enormous commitment entered by PM Starmer.
