China’s container bookings to plunge up to 60% as US tariffs wipe out trade

Donald Trump’s tariffs reduced the freight shipping out of China up to 60%.

Shipping companies see more opportunities in Asian trade instead as other Asian jurisdictions may have easier access to the US at more moderate tariffs.

Shipping prices out of China have been extremely high during Covid but have only slightly been reduced over the years. The US introducing tariffs on China was a strong hit also on the shipping business and freight costs will be offered at huge discounts.
