Dutch lawmakers object to EU’s multibillion defense proposal

The Dutch Parliament voted against the EU’s EUR 800 billion mega-debt financing initiative. The vote is not a law but a declaration of opposition to the Government. The Government is not obliged to follow it but will have to consider it as such strong reject against the current coalition may have further consequences.
The Netherlands are afraid of the financial consequences of the EUR 800 billion debt, a fear existing also in other countries.
