Elon Musk has a reasonable opinion on the origin of the war in Ukraine as well as on the obstacles finding peace. Musk’s opinion as per his X messages are even more critical than those published on our news site Checkpointnews.
We note that Musk blames, as does Prof Jeffey Sachs, the US for the outbreak of the war in Ukraine. It can be understood, in the same perspective of Prof Sachs, that the Russian incursion into Ukraine was provoked by the US and it’s Western allies. According to Musk, the incursion seems justified. Of course, this opinion contradicts the state run opinions in the US and Europe and it is also sometimes dangerous to speak it out. Musk has been accused of being pro-Russian, by Ukraine and its Western sponsors.
Musk accused Ukraine for a cyber attack on his X network in early March 2025, obviously as a retaliation punishing Musk’s public statements. In March 2025, the British press accused Musk of weaponizing X against Ukraine.
Since the Presidency of Donald Trump, it seems that Musk is further involved in the Ukraine matter.
