Fox: Secretary Rubio speaks after Ukraine Negotiations

US Foreign Secretary Marco Rubio gave his first interview after yesterday’s Ukraine negotiations.

He, seemingly, honestly and moved hopes in first instance that the fighting stops.

Rubio avoids answers re territorial concessions, security guarantees, the minerals deal etc. Rubio refers to upcoming discussions with Russia.
For sure, Rubio confirms that a peace deal, to last for long, needs Ukraine having sufficient deterrence but avoids to be precise. As well, he avoids to clearly speak out about US security guarantees, just mentioning that if the US has an economic interest in Ukraine that this may be a sort of deterrence.
Re sanctions, Rubio reminds that a peace deal will need European sanctions to be lifted as well, and refers also to the Russian government assets blocked in Europe.
All in all, there are no precise conditions known for a ceasefire or even a contemplated peace deal. The future US-Russia discussions will hopefully bring results and a compromise on all parties’ conditions for peace.
So far, it is an excellent result that the US Administration has agreed with Ukraine about a ceasefire and that Ukraine finally follows the US requests. It seems also that European leaders have agreed to a ceasefire, even better, that European leaders have agreed to Donald Trump’s leadership. Finally, the Western World is back on track.
