A Starbucks customer was awarded USD 50 million as compensation for an incident when at a drive-in a very hot beverage was spilled over his genitals which burned him reducing his joy of life. It is monstrous amount of judicial damages which only can be awarded in the US. In comparison, a Swiss award would be around 40K, but subject to strict conditions of any violation of reasonable responsibility. Accidents can happen, in particular, when handling hot drinks in a car. The driver must accept the risk when taking in hot drinks through the car window.
