The coalition negotitiaton between SPD and Friedrich Merz’ CDU are continuing. The main issue of the mega-debt has been solved today with the Federaion Council of Germany approving at a 2/3 magority. Nevertheless, the question remains where all this debt money will spent and for what? Merz wants to become Chancellor. He will have to get the SPD on board. Seemingly, the SPD is asking a high price for his Chancellorship. Now, the immigration matter seems to return on the table. SPD and CDU have promised both to voters a harsh procedure against illegal immigration. Now, SPD makes a U-turn and wants to keep all doors wide open for all kinds of immigrants. If Merz accepts the SPD demands, he will be an SPD Chancellor and not a Chancelor as voted by his own voters. He will be an SPD Chancellor like Angela Merkel.
