“An Israeli government minister has vowed that “Gaza will be entirely destroyed” as a result of an Israeli military victory, and that its Palestinian population will “leave in great numbers to third countries”, raising fears of ethnic cleansing in the occupied territory.
Israel’s neighbours Egypt and Jordan have said they will refuse to allow an exodus of refugees on their territory, arguing that would make them party to the ethnic cleansing of Gaza.”
The horror of millions of Palestinians to move abroad was already discussed earlier by Donald Trump who recommended a temporary displacement of the Gaza population to allow a wonderful reconstruction. Talks were held with Jordan, but seemingly no continued.
If the middle eastern countries refuse to receive refugees there may be a new wave of immigration to Europe. Approx. 2.3 million Gaza residents may be heading to Europe. For sure, it will be unacceptable for most of the European population. Therefore, in particular, European leaders are demanding from Israel to stand down.
