Bundestagswahl 2025 – Wahlabend der CDU

German coalition partner SPD demands fundamental change in Ukraine policy, no military aid and rapprochement to Russia

Shortly before the next NATO Meeting, an important number of SPD politicians have issued a Manifest to fundamentally change the Ukraine policy of the German Government.

The SPD is coalition partner of the CDU and Chancellor Merz is fully depending on the SPD.

The prominent SPD politicians called for an “end to militarization” for a rapprochememt to Russia, for avoidance of higher military expenses and, therefore, in consequence, they call for no further, higher military support of Ukraine and for a settlement by negotiations.

The SPD politicians also call for a normalization of the relations with Russia, a cooperation with Russia and a no to new US missiles to be stationed in Germany.

This SPD Manifest comes at an important time: it is issued just before the next NATO-Summit when Germany intended to issue an statement to increase massively military expenses. As well, this Manifest is issued on time before the next ordinary General Assembly of the SPD, where votes for policies and nominations for positions are to be expected.

This SPD Manifest is a stunning surprise after Chancellor Merz has been touring the World, from Washington, to Brussels to other European capitals with the promise to increase Germany’s military expenses massively and to support Ukraine with all it needs.

It remains questionable if Merz will be impressed by this Manifest or if he does need a Vote of the SPD General Assembly to oppose to his military expansionist promises.
