Germany: The Greens are out!

Germany has elected a new Parliament, yesterday. There is a considerable shift of voters from Green/Left to Conservative and Far-Right, favoring the large parties.
A coalition between CDU and SPD seems possible, formerly called the “Great Coalition” when SPD was a large party with many voters, like the CDU is still today. Today, SPD lost voters because it was neglecting its original voters, the working class, in favor of something like a green/immigration/de-industrialisation supporting ideology, made in the Obama/Biden era. The SPD must accept to be a junior partner of a large conservative block that has the possibility to find always a majority with the AfD.
The AfD doubled its votes. It is the strongest political force in East Germany and cannot further be ignored. The AfD has now the opportunity while remaining in the opposition to change their basic composition and to offer solutions to the political process.
While it was understood that the US Administration expresses some liking for a coalition including the AfD, it seems that Germany’s politicians are on the way to oppose all what is American with the leader of the CDU calling for a break of Europe from the US.
Eventually also the CDU leader will recognize the will of the people and he will not just exploit the advantages of an electoral system favoring the large parties and trashing the votes obtained by small parties (in today’s election over 10% of votes are lost because of the system, not represented in Parliament).
Donald Trump will expect that the new German Chancellor Friedrich Merz will be following Trump’s policies. This includes Ukraine and the peace process launched by Trump. It is hard to imagine that Merz, a long time subordinate of the largest and politically most influential US investment company BlackRock would now ignore the US.
The most important news for Germany is that the Greens are out. The Greens were imposing on Germany a policy of de-industrialisation, of immigration, of destruction of socio-economic wealth, worse than the Obama/Biden administrations were able to do in the US. Binden’s New Green Deal and the Green’s Climate Change policies are hopefully now a horror of the past. Obama/Biden’s junior ideologists, the Greens, are evicted.
