The German newspaper Bild reports from the visit of German Defense Minister Pistorius to Kiev.
Pistorius met with V Selensky. Pistorius, in a press conference said ‘njet’ to Taurus, Germany will not deliver this long range missile to Kiev.
The delivery was highly disputed in Germany, recently in Pistorius’ own party, the SPD, partner of Chancellor Merz in the coalition government.
This is an important sign from Germany. It has been acknowledged that the Taurus cannot be handled by Ukraine without German specialists. Also the programming needs German input. Russia warned that so much German input into this attack missile will be considered as Germany directly entering the war in Ukraine. Russia threatened Germany with retaliation.
At least, the German war mongers have been set aside.
But at the same time, Pistorius promised to Kiev a further support of EUR 1.9 billion. Germany will help to build weapons factories in Ukraine for the production of Ukraine’s own long range missiles. Does Germany think having greatly and elegantly avoided with this the controversy about the Taurus?
Of course, until the first missiles can be delivered from the new factory, months will pass. Considering the expected Ukrainian collapse this summer, the factories will probably never be built. It is hard to imagine that Ukraine will prolong the time to collapse, even with some extra money from Europe, knowing that the US just publicly announced to cut down the military aid to Ukraine.
In this situation, it is a monstrous attitude of the Kiev regime to continue its war efforts, sending thousand of new recruits to their almost certain death against a mighty attacker, while knowing that this war cannot be won.
The US have declared to end their support. As consequence, the Kiev regime would need to settle with Russia at the negotiation table, to save Ukraine at least from total defeat.
And finally, it is to be noted that today is Russia’s national day. Pistorius brought a well prepared gift today, a EUR 1.9 billion war machine to be built against Russia. Considering Germany’s historic responsibility for Germany’s war against Russia with 60 million Russian deaths, this gift’s timing is really bad. Germany had once (or twice) attacked Russia – should it be another time? It is not surprising that Russian public opinion now considers Germany as enemy no.1, not the US.
At least US Foreign Secretary Rubio has congratulated Russia to its national day.
