I’m ‘disappointed but not done’ with Putin, Trump tells BBC

In an exclusive phone interview with the BBC, Donald Trump explains his general view on people, saying that he almost does not trust anybody.

On the question if he is done with Vladimir Putin, Trump answers, “no, I am not done with him”.

This leaves a bit open the door for new negotiations between the US and Russia. Russia, after the latest escalation on the US side, would probably not consider to take up negotiations again, unless Russia’s security interests are fully met. Russia knows that Ukraine will collapse in the very near future. A deal at this moment would probably not be in favor of Russia’s long term requirements for peace and stability, therefore, the Ukrainian and NATO matters will need to be settled under Russian conditions.

This leaves the US and NATO little margin to act, unless they want to wage war directly on Russia – a WWIII scenario which all parties must try to avoid or lose greatly in a nuclear confrontation.
