Keir Starmer ramps up diplomatic blitz to end Ukraine war with major London summit

UK’s PM Keir Starmer just returned from a visit to Donald Trump in Washington. Officially, his visit was not successful, even though the UK (mainly left) media sees some positive outcome from his meeting with Trump.
Trump did not agree to give security guarantees to Ukraine or to UK/European troops deployed in Ukraine. Trump still is negotiating with Russia without participation of Europe or even Ukraine. Trump declared that once the US has taken possession of the rare mineral deposits in Ukraine, this may be a kind of security as US personnel (not military) working in Ukraine will be a deterrent and Russia will not break a then-existing peace agreement. Besides the Ukraine matter, Starmer can hope for a trade agreement with the US to avoid tariffs.
But Starmer shows an active role and invited European leaders to a Ukraine summit in London, this 3 March. V Selensky may also be present. The purpose of this summit is not only the peace in Ukraine, but also the security situation in Europe.
