Kiev says it is ready to negotiate but not surrender, after US repeats threat to abandon talks

The Guardian continues to drawn a wrong picture of the reality.

The Peace Plan which was drafted by the US Administration was not for negotiation. It was a take-it-or-leave-it situation. The Peace Plan was addressed to the UK, to Europe and to Ukraine.

The Peace Plan was even not yet addressed to Russia.

Donald Trump has decided to terminate the US engagement in Ukraine, i.e. to terminate Biden’s War. Donald Trump is ready to withdraw completely from Ukraine but has given the US allies and Ukraine the favor of an orderly US withdrawal under this US Peace Plan of which he was confident that also Russia would later accept it.

Indeed, Donald Trump’s offer was a Plan for an Orderly US Withdrawal with some remaining US engagements, including the Minerals Deal, leaving Ukraine the chance to continue to exist.

But Europeans and Kiev are not allowing the US to withdraw so easily and are rejecting key proposals of Donald Trump.

Neither the Minerals Deal has been accepted by Ukraine (only a non-binding, irrelevant LoI was signed), nor the Peace Plan (which Ukraine categorically rejects). Selensky is not able to make a compromise.

In the next few days, the World will see a significant pressure on Ukraine and on Selensky to accept the US Peace Deal. It is not expected that Selensky will concede. But Selensky will try to buy time as he counts on the UK’s and some European leaders’ bailing out.

Unfortunately, while gambling on the way the Ukraine war ends, Selensky sends thousands more to death every day. Russia as well is suffering, and the chances that Russia is further showing a positive attitude to a negotiated peace are diminishing.
