KiyvPost: US Reportedly Halts Weapon Sales to Ukraine

The Kiev newspaper reports: Lawmaker Roman Kostenko, who works as the secretary of the Verkhovna Rada’s Committee on National Security, Defense and Intelligence, said some companies involved in weapons sales and deliveries to Ukraine are waiting for political decisions, but the exact reason for the suspension is unclear.
The reason may be evident: earlier reports accused Ukraine of using an opaque network of arms trading companies. It is about these many companies which were interposed between the US producer and the Government of Ukraine. Today, seemingly, the intermediary trading companies have no permit for the deals.
It has been reported that the intermediaries charge substantial commissions and fees, the end price for Ukraine may be 20% or more higher. It is unclear who is the final beneficiary of that margin, but it is known that many of the companies are run by Ukrainians, sometimes with US arms traders.
