Large-Scale Ukrainian Attack Targets five Air Bases in Russia – but from nearby

The NYT reports that Ukraine was able to exercise massive hits on Russian airfileds. Five airfileds have been hit in five time zones, al over Russia.

It appears, and it is also confirmed by Ukraine as well as by Russia, that the hits were executed from nearby. Ukraine said that they transported drones with trucks deep into Russia, whereas Russia confirms that the hits on the Murmansk and Siberian airfields were done from positions nearby and that some perpetrators were captured. Russia confirms that these were Ukrainians or Ukrainian hired hitmen.

The NYT writes: “Russian military bloggers were quick to declare the Ukrainian attacks a significant failure of Russia’s defenses.”

The NYT informs that these multiple drone attacks from within from Russia were prepared by Ukrainian intelligence for one and a half year.  They were now executed in order to prepare the discussion ground in the upcoming peace negotiations in Istanbul.
