Macron to take helm of ‘coalition of the willing’ to talk to Moscow – Telegraph

President Macron and President Putin have met before, be it at the St Petersburg Economic Forum, during a State Visit in Paris or in the context of the conflict in Ukraine.

Macron may be a well suitable representative of Europe vis-a-vis Putin.

Nevertheless, lately Moscow did not well appreciate Macron’s declarations and actions and also Putin made some public statements about Macron that may not show high esteem. Putin had mocked Macron’s speech where he called Russia a threat to Europe and Putin continued to mock France by making a comparison with Napoleon Bonaparte’s failed attempt to conquer Russia in 1812.

Maybe a view on history will is always good for French and Russian leaders.
