Following a report of the FT, NATO’s command and control structures could be used to deploy a so-called “reassurance force” to Ukraine under a proposal discussed in French-led talks with the U.K. NATO itself will not send NATO troops into Ukraine.
NATO command and control structured may even though command, lead and guide French and UK’s soldiers in Ukraine. France and the UK are NATO members but would not act as such in Ukraine, while being commanded, led and guided by NATO?
It is expected that Moscow will not accept that and target any foreign soldiers in Ukraine, if they carry NATO signs or not.
Insisting on NATO troops (even in disguise) in Ukraine will not bring the superpowers closer to peace. The Ukraine conflict was since the beginning a matter between the US and Russia and can only be solved between the US and Russia.
