No peace without Selensky …

V Selensky remains the sole obstacle to a peace agreement to be hammered out between Presidents Trump and Putin.

Selensky will not recognize nor submit to a peace agreement which has not been agreed by him. Some European heads of state support him.

Selensky continues to oppose to President Trump’s peace efforts and negotiations with President Putin.

Someone should recommend to Selensky, besides being a controversial person, that there is nothing that will help him if the US decide to let him fall. Selensky is highly disputed in his own country, as well he has lost friends in the US and Europe. Selensky remains a chess figure for some of the European actors while Trump has put him aside since long. Selensky was previously a proxy chess figure of the US but Trump cannot and does not want to see him anymore.

Trump does not want Selensky at the negotiation table. Trump further said that the upcoming Alaska negotiation may not necessarily result in a deal. Trump said:” Maybe we have a deal – which I can present to the Europeans. If there is no deal – good luck continuing fighting”.

Trump’s statement shows the direction: even if there is no deal with Putin, the US will retreat from their engagement in Ukraine. Vice-President Vance explained: “the US is done with the Ukrainian war business”.
