NYT: Can European ‘Boots on the Ground’ Help Protect Ukraine’s Security?

In its article, ths NYT reports that Europe cannot and will not send 200’000 peacekeepers to Ukraine, once a ceasefire is agreed.

Europe cannot act without the US. Europe has not enough soldiers and equipment to run such large peacekeeping force.

And the US under Donald Trump have no intention for own “boots on the ground”.

A US/European peacekeeper force is not realistic.

And Russia already said that any foreign troops which Russia has not agreed for will be targeted. Russia reserves the right to agree to a peacekeeping arrangement which can be made with the UN Security Council in which Russia has a veto right.
