Donald Trump has it all in his hands. He runs the most powerful country in the World, independent and only accountable to his voters and the US democratically elected and appointed institutions. Trump is under pressure. The pressure is not originating from US voters or from US elected institutions. It is foreign pressure, from foreign sources that partner with the powerless US Democrat opposition which the voters have democratically eliminated from power. A huge propaganda storm has erupted, with the Democrat allied media (this NYTimes article is the proof for) combined in concert with some anti-Trump foreign media. The strongest pressure on Trump comes from European governments which in great number unite against Trump and the US. The pressure is all about that Trump shall be willing to protect Ukraine militarily, to agree to sweeping security guarantees for Ukraine similar to NATO membership, and that Trump agrees to NATO troops (or even US troops) on the ground in Ukraine protected by the US. Europe conceded that they are not able or willing to protect Ukraine without the US, not having the numbers of soldiers, money, equipment and arms necessary to deter Russia. Therefore, the pressure on Trump is rising and the anti-Trump propaganda is in full motion to force Trump to be ready to protect Ukraine militarily. Trump has said from the beginning that he will not give security guarantees to Ukraine, no US boots on the ground, no protection shield for UK/French troops in Ukraine, no direct military confrontation with Russia and no, most importantly, NATO membership for Ukraine. This position was clear since the beginning. It was clear from the beginning for V Selesky before visiting Trump at the White House last Friday. Against all reasonable sense he was “tough” on Trump, behaved and talked disrespectfully and was insulting Trump and made clear that without US security guarantees there would not be a deal for peace and no deal for rare minerals. Selensky continued childishly demanding for his conditions for peace in Ukraine to be accepted by Trump. Selensky hit a wall and was kicked out of the White House. This was predictable, so it could have been a planned coup. For Trump and the US it remains important not to confront Russia directly over Ukraine. It was always avoided by the former Obama/Biden administrations who knew that voters would not agree and that it can easily develop into a large conflict. It shall be avoided by Trump as well. Any engagement that would lead to a direct military confrontation with Russia is extremely dangerous for the US, but also for the entire World. Ukraine is not of essential interest to the US and an exposure in the conflict would be detrimental to US interests. The US Administration would become dependent to third parties in the conflict, the US would become victim of blackmail. Imagining if, under a future ceasefire or peace deal, a provocation will spark retaliation from Ukrainian or Russian side, a provocation staged by Ukraine, Russia or other under-cover (even islamist) third parties. This is the big, uncontrollable risk for Trump and the US – to which Biden never wanted to be exposed either. Trump shall not and cannot get into a blackmailing situation which are such security guarantees for Ukraine and which is controlled by third parties. Trump must avoid this at all propaganda costs and criticism. Not only US interests are at stake when third parties can blackmail the US, it is a great risk that these third parties can control WWIII. Neither Selensky, nor foreign powers shall be able to blackmail the US or to control WWIII. The problematic is getting worse when US opposition forces and anti-Trump activists unite with the foreign actors to blackmail or destabilize the US Administration in the row over security guarantees for Ukraine. The best what Trump can do now is to continue the negotiations directly with Russia, to work with Russia for peace in Ukraine to avoid a great confrontation leading to WWIII. Trump shall not further take up public discussion about Ukraine to make clear his intention not to involve the US. Trump shall not participate in ad-hoc European meetings or summits as he risks to be publicly exposed to a propaganda machinery – even risking that the UK’s royal state visit will be canceled. Trump shall continue normalizing relations with Russia and shall domesticate Ukraine and Selensky. Trump must undo the mistakes of the Obama/Biden administrations, he must roll back Obama/Biden’s Project Ukraine and must make sure that some disloyal Europeans (allies of Biden/Obama) do not unite with Obama/Biden activists to continue project Ukraine. It is the Ukrainian matter which gives now a basis to the dispute of US elites, but also to foreign powers (not Russian) which are trying to influence the political process and decision making in the US – with the help of the anti-Trump US and European media. The propaganda storm reminds the times of RussiaGate or UkraineGate during Trump’s first term, in particular, as these are almost the same actors with Selensky again intervening as a clownesque bait.
