NYT: Flow of U.S. Weapons to Ukraine Has Nearly Stopped and May End Completely

The NYT reports: ” A Trump administration official said later on Friday that all U.S. aid to Ukraine — including the final shipments of ammunition and equipment authorized and paid for during the Biden administration — could be canceled imminently.”
There are still some left-overs from Biden. But Biden has almost completely exhausted the allocated amounts and weapons as a bipartisan congressional vote with Trump’ agreement has allowed in 2024. Trump does not seem to make any steps towards a new military support package for Ukraine. Instead “Mr. Trump has insisted on “payback” for military aid”.
“After … February 2022, such shipments of military hardware from the United States were announced roughly every two weeks during the Biden administration, and sometimes just five or six days apart.” Since over a month Donald Trump is the US President and not one announcement has been made.
The NYT concludes that “after Friday’s spectacle in the Oval Office, the Trump administration official said the president might decide to end even the indirect support being provided by the U.S., which includes other types of military financing, intelligence sharing, training for Ukrainian troops and pilots, and hosting a call center that manages international aid at a U.S. military base in Germany.”
