Press Conference: President Donald Trump to Prime Minster Keir Starmer. “What a beautiful accent. I would have been President 20 years ago with that accent” … but no other favors for Starmer

In a short summary:
The press conference was partly amusing would it not be overshadowed by thousands of soldiers killed in Ukraine every week, as Donald Trump impressively mentioned it – as many times before. Trump insists that the war must stop now.
Still Keir Starmer insists on a peace deal with conditions, and one condition is UK boots on the ground. Starmer should know by now that Russia will not accept NATO troops in Ukraine and will consider them as targets.
Trump does not give any security guarantee to such UK troops deployed in Ukraine and Starmer makes it feel that he is desperate about it. There is no “backstop” for UK or European troops to be expected and the facial expression, gesture and words of Trump were clear.
Finally, there will be tariffs on UK goods sold to the US. Starmer failed to convince Trump who is awaiting a trade deal with the UK.
A UK journalist’s question to Trump if he will excuse to V Selensky calling Selensky a “dictator” was not even considered worth a reaction for Trump, he simply left it aside.
As a result, Starmer, as Macron before, will return home empty handed.
