The Press Conference of 24 February was important. Listeners learned that NO agreement was found on Ukraine, even not about the amounts the US and the EU have, so far, invested into the war in Ukraine. Donald Trump wants peace now, Emanuel Macron wants peace only with a security guarantee. Macron is still talking of a peace keeping force: it is probably not true that President Putin has agreed to such a NATO troop in Ukraine as Macron very silently at the end of his speach said … and it seems that Macron may have made a misstatements based on some misunderstanding … as he said suddenly that France and Russia have agreed on this. How could they? They do not speak, do not negotiate. Macron also begged the US to support sending NATO troops, asking Trump for US protection. Trump did not mention this with even one word. Also when Macron engaged Europe to take over all Ukraine peace costs, Trump did not react – how can Macron engage Europe to such extent? And was it not already asked for by Trump? Macron, even with all his charm efforts had to leave empty handed.
