Selensky’s public show about the proposed Istanbul negotiations was, so far, mildly spoken, but contradictory.
First, Selensky demanded that negotiations shall only happen when a ceasfire is activated.
Then, Selensky agreed to negotiations without ceasefire.
Then, Selensky said he will come and wait for the Russians in Istanbul.
Then, Selensky said he will come only if Putin comes.
Then, Selensky demanded that Putin must attend, saying that if Putin will not come to Istanbul, Putin does not want peace …
According to Selensky’s own decree, no Ukrainian is allowed to negotiate with Russia as long as Putin is in power. So, inevitably Selensky needs to come himself to Istanbul to speak to the Russians, with or without Putin.
And, in addition, Donald Trump said that he might come as well to Istanbul.
Now, as Putin clarified that he will not be part of the Russian delegation, it may be that Selensky will also not come to Istanbul and that, according to Selensky’s decree, no Ukrainian is allowed to negotiate with the Russian delegation.
And Trump? For sure, he will not come.
And peace? Will peace be lost in this nonsense because of Selensky’s clown show and anti-peace decree? Selensky must do something that at least some Ukrainians speak to the Russian delegation. Or doesn’t he want to have peace?
