It is worth to remind the public that already President Biden introduced and increased tariffs, in particular on China and that almost all the tariffs which were no introduced were already in the making under Obama/Biden and before. There is no reason to be mad at Donald Trump. The introduction of new tariffs was already planned, and needed and necessary for the US. It was an important political act to bring imbalances to a correct and for the US sustainable level. Just only Trump dared to realize it.
Already Biden’ tariff rate went up to 100% on electric vehicles, to 50% on solar cells and to 25% on electrical vehicle batteries, critical minerals, steel, aluminum, face masks and ship-to-shore cranes in September 2024.
Tariff hikes on other products, including semiconductor chips, were set to take effect over the next two years.
China was, therefore, a tariffs target of the Democrats’ Biden Administration as well as it is today of the Trump Administration.
The lamenting of CNN today is proof of its biased bad faith and, well, for a non-patriotic attitude towards Trump’s actions – which were already designed by the Biden Administration.
Seemingly, the Biden Administration never really dared to set tariffs, fearing the reactions of its ideological vassals in Europe which were so important for the Biden Administration’s survival. Trump has not many ideological friends and vassals in Europe, so his Administration is now free to act.
