Ukraine claims it still holds small resistance pockets on the territory of Russia in the Kursk area.
It seems that Russia is now pushing for a security belt on Ukrainian territory, in the Sumy region, to create a buffer zone which would prohibit Ukraine shelling Russian territory.
This means that a greater Russian offensive is expected.
Ukraine may not have the US by its side in the negotiation with Russia. The US has withdrawn from these negotiations and expects that Russia and Ukraine will talk directly. This is the clear sign of Trump’s frustration about Selensky’s rejection of Trump’s Peace Deal, but also his realistic estimate that Trump will not be able to currently approach both sides.
It will be interesiting to see if the US and Russia continue their talks about the normalization of their relations.
