Russia to be placed on UK’s Foreign Influence Registration Scheme

The UK introduces new rules re Russia. Anybody in the UK who is working for the Russian State must register and declare what he is doing. Russia has joined Iran in this perspective.

In addition to the many sanctions, this is a general clause prohibiting to serve the Russian State in any function or under any contract.

If prosecuted and found guilty, a person risks five years in jail.

Remind: UK lawyers already are not allowed to provide services to any Russian, State or private, domiciled in Russia … making the prohibition for lawyers much more far reaching.
