SCMP: France projects Indo-Pacific power ambition in Singapore with carrier strike group

The SCMP reports: “A visit by the French navy’s carrier strike group to Changi Naval Base in Singapore signals the aim of Paris to project itself as an Indo-Pacific power as China’s military activities loom over the region, according to observers.”
China has a long history of conflict and war in IndoChina. It has been a colonial approach which ended in France’s withdraw. France’s return to IndoChina as alerted China as this SCMP article can explain. Only in cooperation with the US, the French engagement in this region and the signal to oppose to China’s expansion makes sense. The French advance alone or with another European partner (the UK) may be hazardous.
In view of the Ukraine disputes between President Macron and President Trump, the French expedition to IndoChina might be really hazardous.
