Selensky warns of new Russian offensive

V Selensky, based on various reports and analysis, warns that Russia is preparing for a new offensive to break further into Eastern Ukraine.

Russian forces have made movements in Eastern Ukraine as Selensky warned that Russian troops are “making movements that indicate preparations for new offensive operations.”

Selensky is on high-speed show time the last few days since the announcement of the Trump-Putin meeting in Alaska. Selensky is fighting for his political survival and was trying to mobilize NATO and European leaders to oppose to Trump.

According to the Independent, “Russian forces made a “sudden thrust into eastern Ukraine, east of the mining down of Dobropillia”, reported Reuters, who added that Ukrainian and Russian military bloggers had warned this could cause serious problems for Kiev.”

Russia seemingly does not reduce military activity days before the Trump-Putin meeting in Alaska. Russian forces continue to eliminate Ukrainian strongholds and encircle fortified towns for further assault. The target for Russia is to eliminate those Ukrainian fortresses that are used for daily shelling of Donbass towns, killing daily civilians, since 2014.

The towns, such as Pokrovsk, are highly fortified and can be taken only with enormous efforts. It will need a Russian bombing campaign, but there are seemingly still civilians staying in those towns, mostly Russians, and it would be a horror for Russian forces to target those Russian civilians used as shields by Ukrainian forces.
