SkyNews reports: “it’s been suggested that Russia’s attack on Sumy targeted an awards ceremony being held for military personnel.
According to Artem Semenikhin, the mayor of Konotop, a city in the Sumy region, the awards ceremony “helped Russia justify their terrorist attack”.
Sky News has since had confirmation of this from one source in Sumy and has approached Ukraine’s defence ministry for further information.”
SkyNews continues: “Especially in a town that close to the Russian border – and at a time when Russia’s spring offensive seems to be underway in that area – you have to question why commanders would have been prepared to host something which would have been an obvious target had the information leaked out that it was taking place.”
Indeed, Russian propaganda justifies the yesterday’s missile hit on Sumy with the military award ceremony held in the town center.
Donald Trump called the hit “terrible” and a “mistake” seemingly not condemning the attack.
The propaganda war has started, accusing each side of war crimes and atrocities, but leaving out some important facts. The fact, according to SkyNews, is that innocent people, children had to die – while there was a military award ceremony in the center of Sumy.
The war has to stop. Austrian Colonel Reisner, brilliant analyst and commentator of the war in Ukraine, demands that either the Ukrainian army receives maximum support to win the war, or the war needs to stop now: negotiations are senseless, a ceasefire at any costs must be agreed to save lives.
