SWI’s Elena Servettaz reports about the increase in the amount of Russian news consumed in Switzerland. She warns of Russian misinformation and disinformation. She points to the fact that since 2024 the governmental news channel Russia Today has increased the number of articles published about Switzerland from an average of 2 to 10 per month. She forgets to explain that the increase is due to the fact that Switzerland hosted the Buergenstock peace conference for Ukraine in 2024. What her reader my not know, Elena is a longtime opposition writer in exile … and she is focused on criticizing Russia. Still, for a “propaganda machine” running over Switzerland, as Elena claims, it is a really poor performance to publish just only 10 articles per month. Now, with a President Trump in power she may direct her criticism of “propaganda machine” towards the US where Russian talking points are taken more seriously. Nevertheless and gladly, she does not call for censorship but for a better eduction of consumers.
