Two former UK colonies, one muslim, the other hindu, escalating again a conflict which exists since many years.
This time, after a Pakistani terror attack, India has retaliated resulting in 26 deaths.
The World is tense today and it does not need such a conflict. Pakistan has a close relationship with China, whereas India is related to the UK, but also to Russia.
In this conflict, there may exist be diverging interests between Russia and China, but very same interests between the UK and Russia.
UK has signed yesterday an important trade deal with India, whereas Russia is already an important trading partner of India. These common interests will demand of the trio a respect for the others trading relationships. UK sanctions against Russia will be impossible.
The Pakistan – China relationship may be a concern of the US. Both countries are not on best terms with the US, therefore, it will be important to observe a careful diplomacy.
It is very disappointing that neither the BBC nor the UK mainstream media discuss Russia’s position towards the conflicting parties. Russia already in the past had a successful negotiator position in earlier conflicts between Pakistan and India. Another example how stupid is the sable rattling attitude against Russia, when the World needs solutions for real conflicts and dangers.
