The Guardian: No Military Solution’ to Ukraine War, Rubio says ahead of Saudi Meeting … but Ukraine attacks Moscow and other Russian Towns in Response

The Guardian reports the statement of Marco Rubio, US Foreign Secretary: “I think both sides need to come to an understanding that there’s no military solution to this situation. The Russians can’t conquer all of Ukraine, and obviously it’ll be very difficult for Ukraine in any reasonable time period to sort of force the Russians back all the way to where they were in 2014.”
Just a few hours later, Ukraine responded to Rubio’s statement with the largest drone attack on Moscow ever. All drones were shot down, but one civilian was killed by debris and some minor damages were reported from Moscow.
This largest ever drone attack on Moscow, even it failed completely, is an affront to Rubio, and to Donald Trump. It is a provocation of Russia, but as well of the US.
Rubio wants to stop the military conflict, reasonably explaining that there is no gain from it and he is pushing Ukraine, so far the US proxy, to make concessions, while hoping that Russia will do the same.
It is a tricky situation for the US: the Trump Administration wants to unwind the wrongs done by the Obama/Biden Administration, to stop the proxy war in Ukraine. The current leadership in Ukraine has interests to continue the war to save itself in a gamble for its own future while trying to find help from some European leaders, pretending to heroically fight for the country but in reality fighting for their billionaire’s retirement in a European exile.
