V Selensky will push for a ceasefire by air and by sea. A partial ceasefire only which was already suggested by President Macron of France. Russia has air supremacy in Ukraine, no significant Ukrainian airplanes are in the sky. Ukraine operates very efficiently drones over the battlefields as well as into Russia. It is not clear if drones will also be covered by the ceasefire proposal. Moscow, a few days after Macron’s proposal has rejected it. Moscow will not accept a partial, temporary ceasefire. In particular, as Moscow is advancing and the Ukrainian army either is encircled or in dissolution or in a difficult situation all over. And Moscow’s air supremacy has also increased considering the fewer and fewer Ukrainian air defense capacities. Why should Moscow agree, at this moment of Russian strength, to a temporary, partial ceasefire, allowing the Ukrainian army to reorganize, to take in new arms and equipment and to better prepare for a new attack against Russia? Even a completely biased reporter would not be able to defend this ceaaefire suggestion. It appears that V Selensky is again pushing for an unrealistic approach to peace, a proposal that has already been denied by Russia. Selensky is on a lost position and should understand that only a “complete surrender to peace” will help him and his country, while the fine tuning, the negotiations of conditions must stay in the hands of the Trump Administration. Therefore, this old Macron idea will most certainly also not please the US delegation which Selensky will meet tomorrow in Saudi.
