The Guardian: Zelenskyy says Trump living in disinformation bubble after blaming Ukraine for Russian invasion

V Selensky is in direct opposition to President Trump.
It is a clownesque show and offensive to say that Trump is living in a disinformation bubble. It is a personal offense and a offense against the US intelligence services who certainly have better information than Selensky.

The Guardian summarizes Selensky’s declarations. These are in direct contradiction to Trump and seemingly Selensky is entering into a war of words with Trump. The US and Russia are right to exclude Selensly from peace talks as very obviously Selensky has no interest in peace.

V Zelenskyy has accused the US for bringing Russia out of global isolation through holding bilateral talks in Riyadh. Relations with Russia must normalize, this is in the interests of the US and the rest of the World. Only Selensky is afraid of a normalization.

Zelenskyy said the focus is on what support Europe can provide to Ukraine if there is a reduction in US assistance. Selensky wants more and more money. There shall be no support for war but for peace and an accounting of all what was sent to Ukraine.

He also said US president Donald Trump “lives in disinformation bubble,” as he called out a number of misleading statements made by Trump overnight, falsely suggesting he is not supported by Ukrainians and is blocking presential elections in the country. Trump has intelligence information and must know about the coup preparing in Ukraine. Today, Selensky seemingly did not yet return to Ukraine, will he dare soon?

He also rejected the current US draft deal on minerals saying it was “not ready,” drafted under US law, and offering inadequate compensation. “I can’t sell it away, I can’t sell our state”. But over the weekend and thereafter he sold Ukrainian assets to foreign investors from the UAE and Turkey. He might still be on a sales trip abroad.

He rejected any suggestion of making broad concessions to Russia, saying any such idea was widely rejected by Ukrainians, and challenged US Ukraine envoy Keith Kellogg, visiting Kyiv today, to go and talk to ordinary Ukrainians about their reception of Trump’s comments. Selensky will not have an advantage so stubbornly opposing to the new Trump team.

Zelenskyy also opposed the use of the word “conflict” to describe Russian invasion of Ukraine, saying it is a deliberate attempt to soften the perception of the aggression. But can he use the word “proxy war” instead?
