The Independent finds this all “shocking”.
Yes, NATO expansion is ongoing since the 90s. But the real push for Ukraine into NATO started in 2014 with the Maidan Putsch arranged by the US under Obama/Biden. Just remember Victoria Nuland walking between the Putschists on Maidan distributing cookies while US sponsored GOs and NGOs paid for the Putsch, the Nazis, the weapons.
This was Project Ukraine. Assembled by the US and subscribed by Europe. They all wanted Project Ukraine, now they have the bill for it. NATO is off the table. Ukraine almost inexistant.
It is important to make future steps, Russia being a big and powerful European country. It cannot be excluded. Russia will offer to the US, to Europe many good things if peace and security is reestablished and no new Project Ukraine will ever happen again.
Russia will be a valuable addition to the G7 and the Obama/Biden aggression as well the other NATO belligerent states’ mistakes shall be forgotten over the years while it will take decades to heal the wounds between Ukraine, the tragic victim of Project Ukraine, and Russia.
