The Lipstick Effect. When Economy is down, Beauty is up – NZZ

There is a trend, according to the Swiss NZZ, that in an economic crisis beauty products sell better.

In Italy, in 2024 the sales of some beauty producers increased up to 30% while the economy is suffering.

That’s called the Lipstick effect of recession.
