The NYT writes:”In the great-power contest for security and influence after the Soviet Union’s collapse, a newly independent Ukraine became the nation in the middle, its Westward lean increasingly feared by Moscow.” Just the NYT did not mention that the Westward leaning was tipped, or better said kicked by the West and that the Orange Revolution of 2006 and the Maidan 2014 were organized by the US and some European countries. Yes, Russia did not like it and in 2014, after the Maidan putsch, Russia started to intervene in Ukraine.
The NYT continues:”But a New York Times investigation reveals that America was woven into the war far more intimately and broadly than previously understood. At critical moments, the partnership was the backbone of Ukrainian military operations that, by U.S. counts, have killed or wounded more than 700,000 Russian soldiers. (Ukraine has put its casualty toll at 435,000.) Side by side in Wiesbaden’s mission command center, American and Ukrainian officers planned Kyiv’s counteroffensives. A vast American intelligence-collection effort both guided big-picture battle strategy and funneled precise targeting information down to Ukrainian soldiers in the field.”
The NYT seems to be proud of the Biden organized war support of Ukraine. The US had not only delivered weapons but also guided their deployment, providing targets, instructing the hits and giving an overall strategy. To what result: Ukraine is on the retreat, none of Ukraine’s offensive had any success. The numbers of deaths are horrendous, large and tragic … but remain contested between the parties.
But the World was not aware of the large engagement Biden took: many US soldiers were on the ground, guiding the Ukrainian troops, programming the weapons and controlling the exact strikes. US troops were deeply involved in the strategic, practical and direct warfare with Russia. The US is the main responsible that eventually so many Russians were killed. Without the US, Ukraine would have lost from day one … now Ukraine’s suffering will continue for much longer.
The NYT concludes shockingly:”In some ways, Ukraine was, on a wider canvas, a rematch in a long history of U.S.-Russia proxy wars — Vietnam in the 1960s, Afghanistan in the 1980s, Syria three decades later.”A very expensive rematch! At the expenses of the Ukrainian people. The admission that it is a proxy war rematch is outrageous, inhuman and diabolic. Why on Earth a civilized country needs a rematch for errors made earlier, why can’t they stop and live in peace, why Project Ukraine and why NATO Eastward expansion to be pushed with war?
It’s enough with matches and rematches. Stop this craziness.
