Trump aware of Israel strikes on Iran beforehand, says there were no surprises – US ready to defend Israel

Donald Trump said in a Fox News interview this morning “Iran cannot have a nuclear bomb, and we are hoping to get back to the negotiating table. We will see. There are several people in leadership in Iran that will not be coming back.”

FOX News further reports: “Israel’s strikes on Iran killed three of the country’s top military commanders, including Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) Hossein Salami, Chief of the Iranian Armed Forces Mohammad Hossein Bagheri and Commander of Iran’s Emergency Command Gholam-Ali Rashid.”

Fox New writes that “Trump said he is watching for any retaliation, and U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) is on high alert. He noted that the U.S. is ready to defend itself and Israel if Iran retaliates. In recent weeks, the U.S. has replenished Iron Dome missiles. ”

What may be understood from this statement is that the US Administration was aware that the attack on Israel was about to happen. The US claims they were not involved but Trump said the US is ready to defend Israel against any retaliation from Iran.

It is difficult to believe that this raid will change the intentions of the Mullah Regime. They want the nuclear bomb and will now speed up the process to show the World that they have it. Iran has been attacked by surprise tonight, even there were rumors about a coming attack – an therefore, it is very surprising that Iran did not better protect its leading officers.

It is evident that these aire raids on Iran may not bring the hoped results. Iran is a large country with a huge population. Air raids can be well targeted and directed against important equipment and personnel, but it is known that in the vast mountain areas, Iran has prepared for deep protection bunkers, in particular, with regard to the nuclear facilities.

A ground war into Iran will never be possible: neither Israel nor the US have the sufficient strength to invade and occupy Iran: it would result in a bloodbath. Therefore, Israel and the US can only threaten Iran with continued aerial bombardment.

As it is unlikely that Iran’s current leadership will return to the negotiation table on nuclear matters, what are the US’ and Israel’s exit strategies, in particular, to make sure that Iran will not have the bomb?

Many countries, even allies of the US and Israel, have either condemned or criticized the latest attack on Iran. Russia condemned the attack as a violation of the UN Charta and International Law.

Debelopping story.
