Trump says there’s a ‘possibility’ he will attend Russia-Ukraine peace talks in Turkey – while Russia reiterates known demands

The hick hack in the Western Press continues. Does Vladimir Putin come to Istanbul or not? And if he doesn’t, is he really the bad guy? But if Donald Trump comes to Istanbul, obviously Putin might come as well.

The theatre as pushed by the Western press is childish.

Putin will certainly not meet with V Selensky. Putin and several Russian politicians have excluded Selensky, designated him as an illegitimate office holder. And, more importantly, Selensky cannot take any decision without approval of his proxy masters, the US and since recently some European leaders. Therefore, for Putin it is clearly not interesting to meet Selensky. For what?

If Trump will make a stop-over in Turkey, there are chances that Putin will make a quick trip, too. Even only for smiles to fotographers. This will already bring peace a step forward, as it may be a signal for the normalization of the relations between the two superpowers.

For any detailed talks Ukrainian and Russian delegations may meet without Putin – and Foreign Secretary Marco Rubio may give them some company … and hopefully good guidance.

And finally, it is necessary that the Europeans stay away and let the decision makers continue without disturbances.

As the Western press hardly acknowledges, Russia has reiterated its basic demands as a framework for a peace agreement – a framework which is similar to the one as proposed by the US recently, but rejected by Ukraine and its European allies. It is expected that, at least, the Ukrainians will talk about the solution to where the Russian-US positions are pretty close.
