UK and EU defy Trump with new strategic partnership to boost trade and security

The Guardian is full of hope and happiness about the new initiative between the EU and the UK to form an aliance against Donald Trump.

It is important and urgent that the EU and the UK come together, if not institutionally but in the framework of bilateral agreements.

The state of the economy, the mass migration and security matters demand a close cooperation between the EU and the UK.

But it’s the wrong enemy. The focus shall not be Trump, shall not be Russia. The dangers are greater and existential in view of China and islamist terror which is also a matter of the mass immigration.

Donald Trump and the US are not enemies of Europe. Russia has never made any approach, any declaration of intent to conquere Europe. Russia is demanding the respect of its own security interests which are limited to Ukraine and bordering countries, while Russia accepted the fact that other countries have joined NATO (practically or formally) and will not challange this status quo.

What is the real proof that Russia is an actual threat to the EU or to the UK? Or do some European leaders want to provoke and attack Russia, eventually by sending NATO troops into Ukraine?
