Ukraine, allies set to meet in UK ahead of Trump-Putin summit

Kiev Independent reports: “The U.K. meetings logistics, including who will participate, are still under discussion. A total of three calls were held following Witkoff’s visit.”

It appears that the UK is calling for a meeting of the backers of Ukraine in view of the recent encounter of President Trump’s Special Envoy Wittkoff and Vladimir Putin. It is not clear who will attend this meeting in the UK, but invited were all European backers, the US and Ukraine.

The purpose of the meeting at best would be to accommodate the negotiation results reached by the US and Russia in bilateral talks, at worst, the risk may be that a Coalition of the Willing is forming opposition against Trump and the peace to be found with Russia.

V Selensky already openly opposes to giving up territory to Russia, Kiev Independent suggested that it may need a referendum.

European politicians already show their anger as they are not admitted to the negotiation table.

Whatever will be discussed at this weekend’s ad-hoc meeting in London, it can only be hoped that it will not stop peace.
