Ukraine awaiting details on ‘billions of dollars’ worth of weapons promised by Trump

Ukraine is waiting for further details of the “billions of dollars” worth of US military equipment as promised by President Trump.

Besides two Patriot systems,  nothing has been more concretely discussed. The US arms must be paid by NATO countries, the US will not send further weapons to Ukraine for free.

But nothing else seems clear. There are speculations that the US might send long range Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine, enabling a direct hit on Moscow. The White House responded immediately that there is no intention on the side of the US to enabling Ukraine to “kill” more people – the US wants the killing to stop. It seems that this message is clear and cannot be misunderstood. Trump knows that if the US will send weapons of higher quality, reach and lethality, the relationship with Moscow might be further damaged and the Russian reaction will be even harder.

Ukraine and the war mongering Western media seem to be disappointed about the uncertainties of what and when arms will be delivered, when the billions will move.

Donald Trump would be delighted to sell billions of weapons to NATO countries but it is absolutely not clear and not communicated to the public or to Ukraine and its European sponsors what weapons and when they will be delivered. The US made recently public that they have only limited arms available. The Russian reaction of today is therefore, rather relaxed and sarcastic – which may be a sign that Russia does not expect a specific escalation.
