Under the pretext of the war, Ukrainian authorities empowered by V Selensky are cleansing the democratic structures, says V Klitschko, the mayor of Kiev.
Since over a year Selensky and Klitschko are officially fighting each other’s. Now, lately, Selensky’s security services have arrested eight of Klitschko’s close team members. Also other associates of Klitschko are under investigation. Usually for corruption charges.
Selensky has made a lot of enemies during the years of war. He messed up the relationship with his former employer and sponsor, Igor Kholomoysky, the formerly powerful billionaire. Selensky also investigated his predecessor, the former president of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, from whom he seized all his assets.
Many mayors of smaller towns live in fear of the central regime of Selebsky and would at any time revolt, like specific mayors have already done.
Selensky is facing a huge opposition in Ukraine, mainly of those powerful persons that are put under authoritarian pressure in a country under curfew. A situation which allows Selensky to avoid elections which are overdue and so he ascertains that his regime stays in power.
