The US has flown B 2 bombers deep into Iran and dropped at least six bunker buster bombs on Iranian nuclear enrichment facilities.
This strike became necessary as the recent Israeli attacks seemingly were unsuccessful and a fierce exchange of missiles and drones resulted in high numbers of civilian casualties, on both sides.
Days before, the US threatened Iran with attacks on its nuclear facilities and sent B 2 bombers, the stealth bombers, into the region, able to fly to targets without radar recognition. Western embassies evacuted the day before. All these were signs of an imminent US attack on Iran.
No doubt that this US attack is a declaration of war. In his Truth Social message and in a later televised speech, President Trump justified the US attack with a long history of violence, terror and threats of the Iranian regime, as well as with the nuclear enrichment programs carried out in bunkers deep in Iran’s mountains, being a threat that Iran is developping a nuclear bomb. The US, therefore, justified the attack with a possibly imminent threat that Iran was about to attack Israel with a nuclear bomb.
On the other side, and as CNN reported yesterday, Israel, by its last week’s unilateral attack on Iran, driven by the same idea to destroy Iran’s nuclear facilities, but also to decapitate Iran’s leadership and provoke a regime change, put Israel in the danger of not being able to defend itself sufficiently against Iran’s conventional retaliation. The US had no other choice and had to intervene on the side of Israel, and is threatening Iran with further and even more terrible attacks if Iran is not accepting peace now. The US seemingly demands Iran’s surrender, now.
It does not become transparent what can be the plan and outcome of this US bombing attack and its next steps. The first Iranian official to react was the Iranian Foreign Minister, speaking of direct consequences for the US for a long period, meaning that Iran can retaliate now or later at its choice. Therefore, the question remains if the today’s three US aerial attacks, certainly massive, have any consequence for Iran’s Mullah Regime, if this clerical, islamist, murderous police state can be abolished with a few targeted attacks from the air? A surrender of Iran would need a regime change, otherwise, if the same people stay in power, the Iranian threat would not have been eliminated and the Mullahs can decide for horrific retaliation at a later moment.
And already over this night, Iran attacked Israel again with missiles, sirens were heard all over Israel and casualties reported.
