US Foreign Secretary Marc Rubio expresses his opinion that within weeks he and President Trump will know if Russia is serious about peace.
Rubio expects actions not only words.
The Guardian avoids to raise the question what may be needed to be serious about peace or what actions may be expected from Russia.
The Guardian seems to give the answer: no, Russia is not serious about peace even though there are statements from Trump and his Administration that the talks with Russia continue positively.
The Guardian writes:” Rubio also appeared to strike a more sympathetic tone towards Kyiv, noting that the “Ukrainians have shown a willingness to enter, for example, into a complete ceasefire”.
It is no surprise that the Ukrainians are willing to enter into a complete ceasfire – at Ukraine’s conditions. The Russian demands for a ceasefire are on the table but refused by Ukraine. Why the Guardian does not discuss the Russian demands? Because Russian demands must be eliminated and not discussed.
